Isn’t it amazing what a major role our cars play in our lives. Here in the Southwest……everyone wants a car and drives it. It is a way of life……even more so in Los Angeles. It’s a car culture. On the other hand, or other coast, in New York City and many large metropolitan areas cars are just a pain. Too costly to have and particularly to costly to park, if you can find parking. A few years ago, a friend of mine had his daughter drive from Liberal to Philadelphia so she would have her vehicle for transportation while she was there for a summer internship. She ended up leaving it parked for most of the summer because, if you could find a place you didn’t have to pay to park, once you drove your car and moved it, you might not ever find another place to park it again that was convienent to where you lived. So when my daughter had the same internship a few summers later….her car…..you guessed it…..stayed in Liberal. Honestly, most of us would not know what to do without our cars.
