Al Shank Sez…..A New Face
So as Al Shank Insurance Inc. enters its’ 80th year, we celebrate new faces. Amanda Brown is a Liberal native who attended Southwestern Heights and grew up in Plains. She graduated from Southwestern Heights in 2004 and then attended the Liberal Area Vocational Technical School in Office Administration.
She has two sons, Wyatt and Westin and is engaged with a wedding date of September of 2021. Following her sons around to all their activities keeps her busy.
Prior to starting at Al Shank Insurance she was with a local credit union. At ASI she will work with our business insurance agents, Denise Boyd and Elsa Manriquez, assisting them with claims, policy follow up, policy accuracy, and billing among other items.
One of the things our founder, Al Shank Sr., always said was “pay your people and take care of them. No matter how tough it gets you pay your employees.” I have never forgotten that advice and fortunately, we have never faced that as some businesses have, particularly during the Covid pandemic. We are blessed at ASI to have great people and it is a cliche to talk about “people persons,” but all of ours are exactly that. One of our guiding philosophies around ASI is….”if can provide your insurance coverages that’s great. If we can also become your friends along the way, that’s even better.” I see it everyday, a client comes in and talks insurance for 10 minutes and then another 10 minutes about themselves or their family. We enjoy those relationships and want clients to feel good about their insurance and the people who serve them when they need us. We currently have a client that may be selling their business. We have insured them since the day they opened over 50 years ago. We have only been able to do that because of good insurance at a fair price, good people, and a great client. You bet they have become great friends along the way.
So we say Welcome Aboard Amanda! With people like Amanda, that’s why we say……since 1941, Al Shank Insurance…Insurance as it should be from people you trust.
